Bread Balls
August. Emilia, a forty-year-old photographer, leaves for a holiday in Sardinia. A husband in India for work, a six-month-old girl who suffers from the sea, an eleven-year-old son who, strongly determined to isolate himself from ‘peerless humanity’ to claim the right to a happiness of his own, spends his time fishing and making his own bait by kneading bread balls. The only help might be the new babysitter: but she is an enigmatic Portuguese girl who does not know a word of Italian and carries around an unlikely pedal-powered sewing machine. The holiday begins and gives rise to a series of funny situations and unpredictable reactions, which creep in among the chatter on the beach and unhinge certainties and common, conformist opinions...
