Melania Mazzucco receives this year's award for her narrative mastery in portraying human complexity. Ezio Mauro is honored for his ability to recount national and international political and social events with rigor and clarity. 

The award jury, chaired by Walter Veltroni, includes figures from journalism, fiction, and criticism. Among others, Agnese Pini (editor-in-chief of La Nazione) is a member.
