The Mondello International Literary Prize announces the winners of the Italian Literature category. The winners of the 52nd edition of the prize—sponsored by the Municipality of Palermo through the Fondazione Sicilia, in collaboration with the Fondazione per l’Arte e la Cultura Lauro Chiazzese, the Fondazione Circolo dei lettori, and the Turin International Book Fair—are: Elena Varvello for *La vita sempre* (Guanda); Antonella Lattanzi for *Chiara* (Einaudi); Tommaso Giagni for *La fabbrica dei ciliegi* (Ponte alle Grazie); and Rita Svandrlik for *Scrivere per esistere* (Carocci) in the Critical Works category. The winners were selected by a Selection Committee composed of writers Viola Ardone, Silvia Avallone, and Paolo Giordano, chaired by Maria Concetta Di Natale, President of Fondazione Sicilia, with the participation of Annalena Benini, Editorial Director of the Turin International Book Fair. The Selection Committee’s choices honor novels that are very different in style and content and attest to the vibrancy of contemporary Italian fiction.
