Following the Costa Smeralda Prize last April (with the jury noting: 'The Keeper shines as a bright and luminous addition to that fantastic genre which, more or less undercurrent, flows through the entirety of Italian literature'), the awards season continues for Ammaniti.

The Lady Wilmar Award. With this award, SalinaDocFest seeks to recognize the artistic freedom of one of the greatest storytellers in contemporary Italian literature—an innovator who, with an unmistakable style, has chronicled the anxieties of adolescence and the fear of the unknown, the unsettling power of dreams and the violent undercurrents of society, and the perspectives of anger and love toward an uncertain future—the future that awaits us all.

Niccolò Ammaniti won the 2026 Hemingway Prize in the Literature category. The prestigious award was presented by the jury for his ability to depict, with visionary yet concrete language, the most fragile and obscure aspects of existence. The award ceremony took place in Lignano Sabbiadoro on June 27.

Niccolò Ammaniti, one of the most authoritative voices in contemporary fiction, will receive the 2026 “Città di Vigevano” National Lifetime Achievement Award, an honor that will cap the 25th edition of the Vigevano Literary Festival, scheduled for October 14–18 at the Teatro Cagnoni. Ammaniti will close the 2026 edition on Sunday, October 18, at 6:00 p.m.
